Do you want to help change America? Donate to Bob Smither's campaign for congress by going to www.bobsmither.com. Bob SMither has a good chance at being the first Libertarian elected to congress. To sumarize Libertarianism in one sentence, it is the belief in small government and personal responsibility. You may ask; Isn't that what a republican is? Maybe it was originally, but not any more. Today, it is a party of tax cuts for the wealthy and a party that wants to tell people how to run their lives. Here are a few exapmles
1. gay marriage: What business is it of yours what people do in their own homes?
2. abortion: If a woman is raped and gets pregnant, who are you to force her to have an unwanted kid?
3. the war on drugs: Who are you to say that it's wrong for somebody to get a little relaxed off of some marijuana? Also, do you republicans think you're so much better than everybody else that you can deny people medical treatment by outlawing marijuana?
Basically, most republicans today believe in freedom for the wealthy but not for the poor. Libertarians believe in freedom for everybody. I'll leave it to the reader to decide which type of people he or she wants in congress.
